Koba Lein reacts to first goal for Valencia CF
K. Koba Leïn scored his first official goal for Valencia CF in the 2-0 win over AD Alcorcón, in only his fourth appearance for the senior side. The 19-year old accompanied Manu Vallejo on an early counterattack, and calmly finished off the opportunity when the ball was played to him by the striker.
“I’m very happy to have scored my first goal for Valencia CF. I’m really pleased with the work that the entire team did today. We’re through to the next round, so we’re happy,” he told VCF Media after opening his account.
The goal was celebrated with a ‘K’ gesture with his hands, as he dedicated it to Kayla, his niece.
“I saw Manu on the ball, and I really wasn’t thinking about anything other than going forward to score. The celebration was for the daughter of my older sister, so I’m happy and I think my family will be too.”

The teenager from New Caledonia has been aided in his adaptation by the attention of the coaching staff, including Javi Gracia.
“I’m grateful to the coach. He was talking to me to help me out. I’m playing with calmness and tranquility thanks to that, as well as the help of all of my teammates,” he stated. “I need to work hard to have my chances to help the team.”
Koba has previously been on target twice for the VCF Juvenil side in the UEFA Youth League against Chelsea, and also twice last term for VCF Mestalla against CD Castellón. His season has seen him score for the second team once again, with a spectacular strike against Atletico Levante in the derby.
